I play his organ music -not every piece, they aren't all good. But most of them are superb.
Then there is a work he didn't even write. When I was in college, I fractured my right arm. I had to play left-hand piano music. I was given the Brahms-Bach Chaconne in D minor.
That remains one of the most holy works for me in the entire corpus. I still play it for the left-hand alone, as intended.
Lots of instruments have borrowed it, but when the piano version is played, it sounds like Brahms.
